Posted in Music, Uncategorized on December 8, 2011 by cmorrill

Itasca Community Chorus will perform Handel’s Messiah this Sunday, Dec. 11 at 3:00 p.m. at the Greenway Auditorium.  The 60+ member chorus is collaborating with the Deer River Madrigal Choir directed by Jason Thurm this concert.  Jason will also serve as the bass soloist.  Soprano Jennifer Graupmann, alto Maria Anoni, and John Schroeder have rehearsed with the orchestra and are looking forward to this weekend.  Violinist Mary LaPlant and Deb Losik, cellist Becky Loomis, oboist Kim Young, and Mike Wourms round out the chorus along with organist Jan Bilden and Cathy Shields on the harpsicord.

Artistic director Cheri Troumbly is doing the amazing task of weaving all the last minute loose ends together.

Thanks to grant from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council, adult tickets are only $8.00 at the door and a Lake Country Power grant provides free admission to students.

The Messiah is one of those community-building events you don’t want to miss and everyone will have the opportunity to stand and sing along on the Hallelujah Chorus.

That’s Sunday, Dec. 11, 3:00 at the Greenway Auditorium in Coleraine.
